Schizoaffective Disorder

Schizoaffective disorder is a mental illness characterized by recurring episodes of mood disorder and psychosis. Psychosis is defined by paranoia, delusions and hallucinations. Mood disorders are defined by discrete periods of clinical depression, mixed episodes and manic episodes. Individuals with the disorder may experience psychotic symptoms before, during or (commonly) after their depressive, mixed or manic episodes.

Schizoaffective disorder is a life-long illness that can impact all areas of daily living, including work or school, social contacts and relationships. Most people with this illness have periodic episodes, called relapses, when their symptoms surface. While there is no cure for schizoaffective disorder, symptoms often can be controlled with proper treatment.

Artemis Institute for Clinical Research is conducting a clinical trial of an investigational medication for the treatment of schizoaffective disorder. Qualified persons that participate in this research study may receive monetary compensation for time and travel, study-related medical evaluations, psychological assessments and investigational study drug at no cost.

If you would like to participate in this clinical study, please complete our optional self-assessment questionnaire below or call (858) 278-3647 for more information.
